It is all over the news and Puerto Vallarta is already feeling the effects. Hundreds of tourism workers have begun to flow in from Cancun. We are seeing thousands of travelers planning on going to Cancun are changing their plans to Puerto Vallarta.
PVRPV has also received a deluge of calls, emails and associate agents all seeking accommodations. This season is poised to become the busiest season ever in Vallarta. Tourism is Mexico's fourth-largest industry and pumped about $10.8 billion into the country's economy last year, according to the Mexican Tourism Secretariat. That's almost 10 percent of Mexico's Gross Domestic Product.
